Privacy Policy
Effective from 29 May 2026. Last updated 29 May 2026.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Jumbo.deals (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit this website, how we use it, and the choices available to you. We aim to collect the minimum data needed to operate the site and respect your privacy throughout.
Who we are
Jumbo.deals is an editorial deals website operated as a sole proprietorship in Chennai, India. We curate and feature product deals from Indian online retailers and earn affiliate commissions on qualifying purchases. Contact: support@jumbo.deals.
What we collect
1. Click-tracking data (when you click affiliate links)
When you click a “Buy on Amazon” or similar link on this site, the click is routed through our /go/ redirect, which records:
- The product you clicked on
- The merchant network (Amazon, Flipkart, etc.)
- The page you came from (HTTP Referrer)
- Your browser’s user-agent string
- Your country (derived from IP address by the hosting infrastructure)
- A one-way hash of your IP address mixed with a daily rotating salt. We do not store your raw IP. This lets us count unique visitors per day without being able to identify you across days or link your activity to other systems.
We use this data to measure which products and pages drive value and to share aggregate (never per-person) traffic statistics with brand partners.
2. Email subscriber data (only if you sign up)
If you subscribe to price-drop alerts or our newsletter, we store the email address you provide along with the products you’ve asked us to watch. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email. Once unsubscribed, your email is retained only to prevent re-subscription without consent.
3. Analytics and measurement
We use third-party analytics services to understand how the site is used:
- Google Analytics 4 — Aggregate pageview and session metrics. Configured with IP anonymisation enabled. Google’s privacy policy.
- Meta Pixel — Used to measure the effectiveness of ads we may run on Facebook or Instagram. Meta’s privacy policy.
- Microsoft Clarity — Anonymous session recordings and heatmaps that help us improve the site’s usability. Microsoft’s privacy statement.
4. Cookies
Our analytics partners set cookies on your device. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so will not break the site — the affiliate links and product pages work without cookies. We do not set our own tracking cookies.
What we do NOT collect
- We do not require any account or login to browse, search, or click through to retailers.
- We do not see your purchase information. When you buy something on Amazon or any other retailer, the transaction happens entirely on the retailer’s site. We only learn that a commission was earned (in aggregate), never what specifically you bought or how much you paid.
- We do not collect payment information. We never handle credit cards, UPI, bank accounts, or any payment data.
- We do not sell or rent your data to third parties.
Affiliate networks
When you click an affiliate link, the destination retailer (Amazon, Flipkart, etc.) and the affiliate network that connects us (Amazon Associates, Impact, Cuelinks) may set their own cookies or identifiers to attribute the resulting sale to us. These cookies are governed by the retailer’s and network’s respective privacy policies.
How long we keep data
- Click logs — Retained indefinitely in aggregate form (no raw IP, only hash). Daily IP salt rotation makes re-identification effectively impossible after the day passes.
- Email subscribers — Active subscriptions retained until you unsubscribe; unsubscribed emails retained as a suppression list to honour your opt-out.
- Analytics data — Retained per the configuration of each analytics provider (typically 14-26 months for GA4).
Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India), and analogous laws in other jurisdictions, you have the right to:
- Access — Ask what information we hold about you.
- Correct — Ask us to correct any inaccurate data.
- Erase — Ask us to delete your data (e.g., unsubscribe and remove from all lists).
- Withdraw consent — Withdraw consent you previously gave (e.g., for marketing emails).
- Grievance — Raise a grievance about how your data has been handled.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@jumbo.deals with a description of your request. We aim to respond within 7 working days.
Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has submitted data to us, please contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Effective from” date at the top reflects the current version. Material changes will be highlighted on the site.
